Nerve Conduction Studies
Dr Cullen O’Gorman is a specialist Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist who provides a dedicated electrodiagnostic service at the BCNC (consultations are not available).
He offers advanced electrodiagnostic testing (Nerve Conduction Studies, needle electromyography, repetitive stimulation, single fiber EMG) for nerve and muscle disease, including traumatic nerve injury, nerve entrapment, peripheral neuropathy, myopathy and myasthenia gravis.
Cullen O’Gorman completed his medical degree at the University of London, where he was proxime accessit to the University Medal. He worked in both England and Australia, completing his neurology specialist training in Queensland’s major hospitals. Cullen travelled to the USA, where he completed fellowships in advanced clinical neurology and clinical neurophysiology, at Mayo Clinic, Rochester before returning to Brisbane. Cullen completed a PhD in the epidemiology of multiple sclerosis in 2018, and has won awards from Griffith University and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists for clinical research. He continues to have active research interests in clinical neurology, neuroimmunology and neuromuscular disease. Cullen runs the Metro South neuromuscular clinic at Princess Alexandra Hospital, one of the first clinics in Australia to have an embedded multidisciplinary team providing patient care. He was the Director of Neurology at Mater Hospital from 2019-2022. Cullen is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, associate fellow of the Royal College of Medical Administrators, and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
